Alterity gains a streamlined FDA pathway as ATH434 faces its decisive clinical test

Alterity Therapeutics Limited has received the official minutes from its End-of-Phase 2 meeting with the United States Food and Drug Administration, confirming a potential registrational pathway for ATH434 in multiple system atrophy.

The FDA agreed with the company’s proposed dose, principal endpoint, secondary measures and overall structure for a pivotal Phase 3 study. Alterity plans to enrol approximately 200 patients and compare ATH434 50 mg twice daily with placebo over 12 months.
